Simple statements I found from a graphic designer > tweaked by me a bit.

Here’s what they are:

1. Helping other people helps me.
2. Having guts always works out for me.
3. Thinking that life will be better in the future is stupid; I have to fix my problems now.
4. Organizing a charity group is surprisingly easy. (I may change this one)
5. Being not truthful always works against me.
6. Everything I do always comes back to me.
7. Assuming is stifling
8. Drugs feel great in the beginning and become a drag later on.
9. Over time I get used to everything and start taking for granted all I have.
10. Money makes me happy.
11. My dreams sometimes have great meaning.
12. Keeping a journal supports personal development.
13. Trying to look good limits my life.
14. Material luxuries are best enjoyed in small doses.
15. Worrying solves nothing.
16. Complaining is silly. Either act or forget.
17. Everybody thinks they are right.
18. If I want to explore a new direction professionally, it is helpful to try it out for myself first.
19. High expectations pay off.
20. Everybody who is honest is interesting.

I ask this question not only to you, but to me also.

We’re all guilty of it. Seeing someone perform their mastery, frustrated because we wish that it was us accomplishing what they are.

I think what we forget is the abilities & gifts ALREADY in us.

Cherish the gifts YOU have today, not mine, not your friend’s, but YOURS!

1. Set the Time

3 Sets Types of Time:

1. Work Time – Allow social networking to interfere during this time of work
2. Solo Time – Cut out ALL distractions, no twitter, facebook, Elance, LinkedIn, etc. Only work
3. Break Time – Take some time to go catch up on some blogs, twitter, etc. > Northwestern University in Illinois, indicate that short breaks at work can actually help you solve complex problems

2. Control Your Notifications

• Disable pop-ups on computer and social networking updates on phone & computer! Pop-ups tend to pop-up right at the time you’re getting ready to accomplish goals and derail you.

3. Try Batch Processing & Set Rules

• Batch Processings means to check your email at strategic points in the day: morning, afternoon, and evening. Not throughout (unless necessary).
• Set rules you live by, especially when you are your own boss and make your own schedule.

I understand that after watching intense, emotional movies you aren’t supposed to deam you’re lifestyle as unworthy and problem-less. However, I do believe it is good to reflect on more serious, important matters of life.

After watching the movie, “We Were Soldiers,” I feel that for me it is my duty to succeed at everything I do by giving my all.

• Soldiers have died to make sure that my success and freedom are safe.
• Soldiers have chosen a life that takes them away from their wives, children and families.
• Soldiers have given themselves physically and have lost major body parts which restrict them from doing the most basic of motor functions that we take for granted everyday.
• Soldiers have sacraficed in a way that only another fellow soldier could understand.

My daily life is so easy when compared to the life of a soldier. It really helps to put some things in perspective. Maybe my arguments with my friends aren’t such a big deal. Maybe I should smile a little more, and get over the petty things in life that really aren’t very important.

It’s never good to forget the past when trying to appreciate the present, and provide hope for the future.

It’s funny to say, but I think I have more in common with Danny Tanner than I realize. Ya know, the dad off of “Full House” who joyed in cleaning his cleaning supplies (meaning he actually had a day where he cleaned the “409″ and “Windex” bottle).

Most guys would immediately want to compare themselves with a more rough, emotionless figure like Jesse Katsopolis.

And, as much as I would like to lump myself in that category, I’m finding so much freedom in knowing who I AM.

Instead of jumping in the facade that the media creates, how about you define yourself by what you see in the mirror.

Ever seen “Yes man?”

Although I don’t agree with everything in this movie, it has several strong elements engrained in the movie.

What is it about:

Jim Carrey (in the beginning of the movie) has been scarred by an ex girlfriend, thus resulting in his social withdrawl from friends and co-workers. He shows no ambition nor hope from the future. After attending a self-empowerment conference, Jim Carrey is bound to a “covenant” that he must say YES to every and any opportunity that presents itself to him.

In this process he takes guitar lessons, learns Korean, helps a homeless man home and shows compassion for him financially, etc.

What’s so cool:

What’s so amazing about this is that in every situation where he was forced to say YES to an opportunity, each opportunity had a purpose to HELP someone else overcome something in their life.

It’s not said enough that YOUR LIFE is NOT about YOU!

Everyday you live is a day to reach out and provide a solution to someone’s problem, realizing that sometimes, you’re the one who needs the solution.

Funniest quote from this movie: “Say it a million times. Say it a million times more. And the word you would have said 2 million times is YES!”

Haha…if you haven’t seen the movie, you just won’t get it!
